Bunch of strutting in MN

Here in MN we had a warm sunny day recently and we had about 40 turkeys in our back field.  All the boys were trying to show how big they were!  My wife snapped a picture using her phone through a binoculars so it's not a perfect picture.  There were more strutting than she could fit in the lens through the binocs.

Great shot! We are expecting our first snow of the winter tomorrow after being 83 degrees exactly a week ago. Two of my spots had strutters carrying on today.

From MN also been having 18 hens come into the back yard past month every day or other lookig for spillage under bird feeder. They found my place while eating the sumac berries on property line. Five strutters showed up Sunday with them, but spooked when they caught a little to much movement through the window the hens are some what use to. They all had some decent hooks, looked at them with spotting scope. The hens are hear they will be back. I don't hunt this property.

ugh. jealous! it was -9 here in Wisconsin Wednesday morning    cabin fever running high

although it beats the hell out of that polar vortex crap from last winter. so fun driving to work when its -40

Yep, had a bit of a cold stretch but warm today.  Certainly better than last year. 

More birds strutting today.  Admittedly, I don't hunt here on our property.  We only have 14 acres.  We're surrounded by much larger parcels, but all of my neighbors hunt so we don't have access to those.  I like to sneak hunt and walk slowly and pause for a while here and there over several hours, so I hunt some large farms in SE MN.  My 16 year old son will sit in a blind here on our land and likely tag out.
