Got to see Sam again this year in Springfield MO! Finally got my hands on an OSS... I might have slipped away with a box call and a new pot call!! This is the second year I have met Sam at the booth and purchased his products. I used his calls last year with great success and will continue to fill my collection with his calls!

I'm not a salesman, call maker, or master caller...just a good ol boy turkey hunter that loves the sound of a great call. I can tell you this one piqued my interest as soon as I touched the surface.

Crystal over copper - call number 4 from Gooserbat ( Not including mouth calls) and I'm a fan for life.

Great guy, great calls, end of story!

Which box did you get MO?  I just picked up his purpleheart/cedar and really like it.

I spent years buying dozens of mouth calls from year to year...but his diaphragms are the only ones I buy now. I buy 3 of each model I prefer every year. I have a small pallet, and he trims his calls perfect for what I prefer. they are killers, probably the most consistent diphragms that I have bought from year to year. There is the occasional variation in consistency, but like I said compared to mouth calls ive bought his are the most consistent I can get without making them myself. I just got my yearly order in last week, and once again...superb

I believe it was his cedar box. I was told that they were the last ones of this particular model he made, and my buddy and I got the last 2. Sam and his crew assured us that they would become collectors items... or did he say antiques... I cant remember!

Agree on the mouth calls too! I used one last year and it is still in good shape. I have found several calls from other companies break down after a single years use. Or they loosen up so much they dont sound right. These are good and stand up to the abuse.

Gobble!

His calls are right up there with Hooks IMO.

It was one of my old style walnut boxes.  They are all gone to good homes now.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
