I give him the quiet treatment for 5 minutes, and if he doesn't commit, I use a soft purr-putt mixed in with soft clucks..The key word here is soft..It drives them wild. I use a pot call for this..Try it..Mike

Anything from blowing his ears out with calling to silence. If he hangs up I'll usually start with the silent treatment to see if that troubles him and peaks his interest. If he has already proven himself to be really reserved, I likely will not drastically pick up the calling. I have, however, tried to turn them inside out with calling and had that work as well. Its all about trying to read the bird..........and I won't ever claim to be an expert at that.

very quie clucks and purrs with leaf scratching if posible then not another word. dont show him all yours calls if he dont budge... good luck

All these tactics mentioned will work, I usually try them all at some point while working a bird, you just never know what and when something changes in his tiny little brain that makes him move. I don't fear doing anything in that he might spook as long as it is natural. Time is usually what helps to kill a testy bird.
