I was just wondering how many members on here are Eagle Scouts? I have the honor this weekend of giving the Eagle Scout challenge to a young man I saw grow from a Tiger Cub to and Eagle Scout.

I am an Eagle Scout and so is my son. In 2007 I took a group of Scouts to The Boundary Waters Canoe Area. On that trip we saw over 30 Bald Eagles. I kept telling the Scouts that it is a sign about all of you. Tyler will make that sign come true; every Scout on that trip earned the rank of Eagle.

All of the young men Earned the rank when they are 16 or 17 years old. The eight Scouts on that trip are some very special young men

1. Football Captains
2. Band Section Leaders
3. One joined the Army and went through Boot Camp between his Jr. and Sr. year
4. Salutatorian
5. Half the group is in College and the rest are graduating this year.

The proudest  thing I can say is every one of them went some where and volunteered to help with the storm damage some where in Alabama this past weekend and some are still volunteering today. All did it by themselves, not as a group. There were some in Birmingham, some in Elmore County, and some in Tuscaloosa. Tyler will be working this Saturday morning helping other in Elmore county before his Court of Honor that afternoon.

I am an Eagle Scout; I received my award in 1969. Back when I received my award less then ½ of one percent reach Eagle. My Uncle Bill was an Eagle and my brother was an Eagle Scout. This last year I had two equally qualified job applications come across my desk, on the one application he had listed he was an Eagle Scout. That individual received the job; I felt that if he was ambitious enough to go through all the ranks and stick with it to get all 21 merit badges he would do a good job for us. Becoming an Eagle Scout means a lot and tells a lot about the person.

My son Dillon is an eagle scout, He went from tiger cub to eagle. Its a
great accomplishment for any young man.

I got my Eagle in 1992 and my two younger brothers got theirs in the years to follow. The Eagle award is not only an honor it is a very life long valuable accomplishment. I got my first auto loan at the age of 18 without a cosigner because the loan officer read in the paper that I received my Eagle just 6 month prior. I also got my first full time construction job right out of high school because I had that I was an Eagle on my resume and the employer turned out to be a Scout Master. At the age of 37 I still list my Eagle and my current involvement in Scouting on my resume.

I've been one since 1980.  And I still take great pride in it.

I attained the rank of Eagle Scout in 1999, at the age of 14.  It's one of the best decisions I ever made.  The major BS Camp was only a few miles away, so it made it very easy

My grand Finale' was hiking 110 miles at Philmont... That was an unforgettable experience.
