The worst part is this isn't unusual at this elevation.

It rained today in Avon - 7500 ft
Turned to Snow around - 8500 ft
Accumulating on the grass - 9000 ft
Piling up on my truck parked at 10,000 ft

This is what greeted me when I got off the bus in Leadville this evening.  Between 6 and 8 inches of wet snow on my truck

If I had that up here, I'd be going nuts.  Way too late in the year for that stuff.  Last year during the early part of our turkey season, we actually had snow.  May 3rd I believe.  We are right around 70 and I'm loving it.  Perfect temperatures in my opinion.

snowing here right now..light, won't get more than a trace, but still, C'mon Man!!

Thats my thoughts too.  We've already had more than our share of snow this season and are at record snowpack

It got up to 90 degrees here today, I don't know which is worse...

Same here I would be more than happy to have some snow!

I gotta tell ya Hobbes. I envy you for living in Colorado. Its probably the most beautiful state in the nation, but you can keep that snow stuff.

I'm looking at the weather for my weeks stay... Says highs in the low 70s mid 60s and lows around 45.... Hope all the doesn't change!

When do you get to CO?  The weather is supposed to be nice again starting tomorrow.

I'm hoping to have a good weekend and fill my tag, since Isaac filled his last weekend.  I may be driving south on the 20th and 21st to help a newbie with a RFW tag.  If I haven't filled my tag by then, I'll jump over and hunt one of the SWA's nearby if we can get his tag filled.

Flying in late evening tomorrow, the hunting starts Saturday morning.

Snow....... Springtime in the Rockies!
If I had a dollar for every gobbler I thought I fooled I'd be well off!

You can keep it... I remember several years ago here in PA, May 5th working a bird and saw him bout 60 yds coming on a string. The it started snowing so hard I could not see him. Ended up killing him and, that will forever stick in my memory.
Don't gobble at me...

Wyo is right.........its just springtime in the Rockies.  I get tired of it, but then I think about hot and humid summer days back home and I'm ok.

Covehnter, good luck this weekend.  The weather looks like it should be good.  If your through Avon during mid day next week, give me a call and maybe we can grab lunch.
