Birds have been gobbling good and responding to the calls from my experiences.

Hunted Ohio Thursday through Saturday and the birds were gobbling hard off the roost but were in big groups yet with hens. We had most of our success from 9:00-11:00 when the split away. Even then it was a lot of multiple gobblers coming in. Serveral doubles our week at camp.

both birds i shot were single birds and came into lite clucks and purrs, my daughters bird was two toms that ran to beat up my jake over hen setup, also was blind calln with clucks and purrs after rain left and sun came out, that was carroll co and stark co, good luck to all, russ

Any thoughts on if pressure has died down be hunting wkdays

I hunted public yesterday in Eastern Ohio and only saw a handful of vehicles. Mushroom hunters are going to be your biggest obstacle. I would imagine if you are hunting during the week you'll pretty much have the place to yourself.

Gobbling has been hit and miss this week for me. As for public it will depend on which public you try. Some gets hammered all season and some gets relaxed after the first week. Just always remember it is public so have back up spots in mind. Be mindful of other and dont hunt on top of them. Mushroom hunters from my experience do not give a rats tail that you are there. They will park next to you and spook your gobbling bird if that is where they want to look. Have had it happen way to many times.
