After Tuesday the opening week it has been one tough season.
It was cold that morning but the 26 lbs 10" beard with 1 5/8" spurred tom finally came in and strutted at 20 yards, the 20 guage with federal tss 9's was overkill that shot! Of course I had the .410 in the truck, lol with tss loads .
NOW
The toms are not ready to play the game.Have noticed lots of hens by their self with no gobblers in tow up north all weekend.
Some very good hunters on some prime ground are getting whooped. This morning the toms left the hens to go gather amongst them selves leaving the hens behind .
Hunted south and it was pretty quiet for the most part in Henry county with nice weather and things are really green there.
You all having some of the same?

I must of got lucky, I got mine on the first 2 Monday's. Took a young kid out Saturday and hunted until 1pm and only heard one turkey gobble some on the roost then went quite. I'm the same as you a lot of good turkey hunters are getting whooped. Not very many 2 year olds this year.
