Never, used choke lube. I am very particular with cleaning my guns. A light coating of gun oil usually does the trick plus its very easy to clean. Never used face paint either just my regular mask - generally try not to over think things unless some thing costs me a bird. Just my two cents.
Thank you much for the comment, I do appreciate them all. I am still learning a lot, I did not grow up in a hunting family really so I am teaching myself everything and having to relearn a lot of things because of not being able to hunt for 17 years because of a car accident. I can use all the advise I can get so long as a person is not a jerk about it or talking down to me.

No talking down. The way I see it we are all on this forum to share experiences and learn. It does get emotional at times but I think this is mostly due to the passion of turkey hunting. In fact its almost like a cult LOL. I try to keep things simple and try not overthink things.

I admire your courage and determination to turkey hunt after your car accident. I wish you the best in your endeavors.
Everyone wants to be successful - some just need help.

I am sorry if I implied that you were talking down to me, that was not my intention in any way shape or form, it was just a general comment. I agree, we all get very emotional over this sport that we love. Thank you for the compliment and I wish you the best of luck in your life and hunting endeavors as well.

over the years i have had two differnt guns with stuck choke tubes one i had to heat the barrel to get it out ever since then i have used choke tube grease or automotive antiseize without anymore problems

I use this.  recommended by Trulock and I use it for so many other things.  One jar will last the rest of your life. I keep a jar in my choke pouch.  I also keep one in my tool box.

Thank you for the recommendation, I never knew there were some many different products out there for it before this thread.

Any kind of anti seize stuff will work. Even automotive stuff
I concur, but I prefer the synthetic stuff since it is almost scentless.

Birchwood Casey or anti seize will be better than straight oil. Just a light coat of it will keep your choke from sticking.  :anim_25:
Good advice.
If I had a dollar for every gobbler I thought I fooled I'd be well off!

Being a mechanic I have always had automotive anti seize on hand and has worked very well and lasts a long time

Graphite is one of the best anti seize materials.  Do you have graphite anti seize for a lock so the key always goes in easy? Some people just use graphite from a pencil.

No problem just go to any local parts store and buy a jar and it will last you the rest of your turkey hunting career. Good luck with it and have a great spring
