A lot of the older guys have shot a lot of birds over the years, and the kill isn't as important any more as still being able to get out and do it.  ;D I haven't reached that point yet, and putting one down is still primo. Glad you met some of the old timers, and good luck this season.

They do know their stuff, that's for sure.. I can tell just by talking to them... These guys are both retired, and spend their days picking up after others who seem to think the land is a place to shoot and a landfill, so hunting is really something they enjoy.
