Need Advice on turkey round

I just introduced myself in the introduction section. I am about to start turkey hunting and bought a Super Vinci to cover turkey and duck hunting. I own some shotguns and have shot a bunch, but here is the thing: the are all tactical (Mossberg 590a1, Benelli m4. etc.). You pretty throw whatever you want in those guns and then whatever-it just fires and is fine. I am new to the world of stuff like chokes.

I would prefer to use lead free ammo. So, I was thinking about running Hevi shot (I have a few boxes of Hevi shot, including their Magnum blend). However, I am hearing a range of opinions about whether it damages barrels. So I gues a few questions might be:

1. If Hevi shot OK in the Super Vinci?

2. Is there any danger to the barrel running it with a more narrow turkey choke?

3. What choke might you recommend for it?

4. If not Hevi shot, any recommendations for lead free?

Thanks so much in advance!

Your fine with the Hevi, I wouldn't worry about damage. Can't offer advise on chokes as I don't own either of the guns mentioned, other than any of the Turkey chokes from the better manufactures should perform satisfactory.

You have a great gun in the Super Vinci.  I don't personally have one but I do shoot benellis.

Hevi Shot is fine to shoot in the gun. No worries there.

There are plenty of great chokes on the market for Turkey hunting.  My recommendation for the MagBlends would be either a Rob Roberts .660 or Indian Creek .665

Good luck this spring!

Try your factory full choke with Winchester long beards first..

I second what Taylor Jones said about Rob Roberts Final strut chokes. I have a few of his chokes .640-.660...and I got my best pattern out of my SBE 2 with a F.S. .655 = 211 in 10" @ 40yds. You may also wanna try the JEBS line of chokes, and Indian Creek as well (Stuart is a great owner!!!) And even though its not recommended to shoot any HTL load thru them, Kicks is an affordable line as well. Jelly head is also worth a try. And yes,try long beards,H-13 straight shot (6s or 7s) My best pattern came from 3.5"/ 2.25oz/#7s out of a .650" Final Strut choke = 336 in 10". Best advice I can give you is be sure you shoot at a target big enough (4'x4') so you can see your ENTIRE pattern, also shoot at a blank piece of paper, just aim at the middle, you can adjust your POI to your POA after you figure what combo works best. Hope this helps, and don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything else!!!! Remember, you will get out of this what you put into it.
