?? Yea that's what I meant. Even heard a tagged two year old had  inch and 3/8 spurs. I live in south ms, and there's nothing the bird could have worn them down on. Just strange they were so thin

The spurs aren't any older than the gobbler who's growing them. That's a known and proven fact!  All the rest is assumption.

Thank God turkey hunting isn't like deer hunting....we would be seeing shows where the hunter is holding out for the "mature" gobbler and blah blah blah. It gets bad enough on here with the studs that don't shoot hens in the Fall,jakes or bearded hens in Spring. If it's legal it's your choice.  Congrats on a nice bird

From what I have seen around here the older birds have a thicker leg bone than a 2 year old.
