The kind of experience you had really puts a damper on the hunt and future memories. A good taxidermist that is willing to put in the time can fix your bird. They frequently take donor parts from other carcasses to repair damage. Sounds like your taxidermist did not want to do extra work. Glad mine is not like that. There should be some good recommendations on this forum for taxidermists. You should also put a nome to the outfitter so others don't get caught in the same situation. Same for the Good outfitter: let us know who he is and how to get his contact information. There are too many ripoffs out there we are better off avoiding.
Everyone wants to be successful - some just need help.

Thanks for all the congrats fellas!  I'll let ya know how the taxidermist search goes. Anything wanting to know who the outfitter was can PM me. I'll gladly tell ya, but I don't feel it's right to openly post it on this forum.

Out of curiosity was the bird hit in the body hard?  Many, if not most taxidermist these days use an artificial head for turkeys anyways...

PM me if you want, and I can send you a list of taxidermists that are popular on the duck hunting forums I visit...
Did I do that?

Fly fishermen are born honest, but they get over it.
