What are some of you guys favorite mouth calls? Do they have a clean sound or more on the raspy side?
Thx

Hooks at the moment.
You can make a mouth call sound clear or raspy but I've found the less cut on the top reed will usually yield a cleaner sound. I personally like a good deal of rasp.

I'm a Hooks fan too. I also like some rasp. Too flutey n I ain't gonna dig it. The heartthrob may be my new fav call. Yelps n cutts just the way I like n whistles out a great kee kee. Very good call. Another poster just ordered some n they come small from Midwest if you decide to try any n want full size tape call Hooks direct or order direct n ask for full size tape in the notes

Gooserbat
I used to love hard rasp, but I've had better luck with a cleaner yelp the past few years. Seems like most people like the rasp

Strutter Shop makes some good sounding mouth call. I personally like the Hammer.

Legacy Lone Hen. A little bit of rasp, but clean for the most part.

I love a ghost cut and for some reason I can control a call with a half reed better than one without so my goto call is Woodheaven toxic orange. Next would be a pollard 2 1/2 ghost cut. I can achieve clear notes and then drop down to rasp.
