Hey Guys,

Here is a "collab" box call sheath design that Jody Harrison (Preacherman Custom Calls) came up with...  Traditional style sheath, wrapped with rawhide and lined with rabbit fur, but it has a modern twist with the addition of the hip paddle.  This design will aid with easier on/off and could also make it easier to "clip" the sheath to your vest, if desired.  Let me know what you think!

You ask, I don't care for the leather string holding it together with all the holes it will let moisture and rain water into sheath. I like them sow a lot better than the rawhide wrap.  I've seen that rawhide string break after a few years... If it was sow with black tread and with the clip you have it would be great..

I agree; sewn and with dark thread would be my choice as well.  But these are fun to make, and with one of Jody's custom calls, the package should make a nice pairing that's functional as well.

I like it! I think the white lacing is a nice touch. As far as the camo aspect goes, I don't think that thread will make any difference at all.
Regarding the comments about water getting into the holster, I wouldn't think of taking a call that I would holster out in the rain...No way! Maybe debris might get in there, I'll concede that but, on the other hand, no flap makes the call accessible.
All in all, nice holster!

If you are a turkey hunter, sooner or later your going to get caught in a rain shower or thunderstorm while hunting. I don't think any turkey hunter hasn't got wet hunting.

Well, to each his own. I don't take my good calls out when rain is forecast so for me that holster would be just fine...
In any event, I like it...

He ask for opinions and i like it also...  I just don't like the stitching.   I agree with 100 percent each his own... I do take my calls out if rain is forecast, you just made my point on the leather wrap, if it was sewn it would protect the call a lot better. if rain is forecast i have other ways to carry my good calls and protect them from the weather and still use them..Turkey hunters always has a plan A and plan B... good luck this season, i'm like you i hope the weather is nice...
