I have been searching the web for a 22" barrel for a 1300 in 12 gauge with no luck. These things are like hen's teeth. Does anyone know of a good source for Winchester barrels?

You might want to try these folks. http://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/ctgy/winchester-model-1300-barrels If those 24" barrels have sufficient mass, you might be able to have one threaded for Win-Chokes.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the idea. I seen those barrels, but never thought of that. I will keep that in mind.

Also, my 28" barrel shoots about 4 inches high. Any tips on that? Or just hold low?

You're welcome. You might also be able to find a smooth bore slug barrel that could be threaded for chokes. They usually have a thicker barrel. They also have open sights on them usually.

Does it shoot high with a turkey choke or with a flush mounted choke? If it's a turkey choke, I'd put a flush mounted choke in and see where it shoots. You may be able to cure the problem or most of it by experimenting with different chokes and shotshells.

Many times I see quite a difference in point of impact when I change chokes. It can be more than 4" at 40 yards. It's also possible that a choke may not be concentric. A little experimentation may tell you if it's a choke problem or a barrel problem.

There are good open sights that can be used to adjust your POI as well. I recommend the Truglo Pro-Series. They attach to the rib with set screws so they don't move, they are fully adjustable for elevation and windage, are all steel and have fiber optic inserts that really pick up the light. I only use them if I have a POA/POI problem however.

Please let me know if I may be of help.

Thanks,
Clark

Already have the smooth bore "DEER SLUG" barrel. I don't want to modify it, as I enjoy shooting slugs at the local turkey shoot.

The only choke I have used so far is the factory full which extends about a 1/4 of an inch. Also have the modified and improved cylinder. The distance was 25 yards and haven't shot a lot yet. Only two  different brands of  shells. Haven't had time to do much experimenting.

Agree on the tru glo sights. Have them an a 20 ga. 870. May have to go to them. I think if the front bead wasn't so fine it would be dead on.
