Mouth call question???

So I use a mouth call all day along with other calls. I leave the call in my mouth for at least 4 to 5 hours, sometimes more. I'm sure others have experienced their calls getting saturated. When mine do, the latex seems to wrinkle, the tape slide from the frame and it gets more difficult to achieve the same sound quality as time goes on (over 4 hours).  Does anyone experience this same thing and if so, is it as simple as carrying two calls or taking the call out of your mouth now and then? This type of thing seems to be happening to me more and more.  Just interested in what other do.

Thanks,
Doug

Not a problem for me, I shoot my birds within 15 minutes of fly-down.
Seriously, I'll either keep mine in the side of my mouth between my teeth and cheek, or slide it out and just hold the back with my lips. I haven't really noticed it getting saturated, or the sound changing.

Personally, I'd take it out if I'm not using it. That's just me though.

I have definitely noticed my calls getting saturated from time to time but I cant say ive actually noticed a change in sound.  That being said, I always carry several calls with me and have no problem switching them out if I notice anything like that

You may want to try using calls with  "proph" aka prophylactic reeds or a mix of them , other than that you may need to carry 4-5 of that same call and switch them out throughout the morning to keep the calls fresh and tight

Thanks gentlemen, I think it's like Old gobbler and jepcho said. Carry a few to keep them tight. I think that's what happens. As they get saturated, that " tightness"  I'm used to start to change and the sound changes. I may also try a prophylactic reed call as well. Maybe  gooserbat will make a few I can try?

Thanks for the response,
Doug

Yep,i switch out anywhere from 2 to 4 mouth calls in a morning, depending how long im out there! As far as the tape slideing around i would contact the call maker, might have been a bad batch of tape.

Thanks Devastator. As the years have gone by ,I use a mouth call more and more or I should say I keep the call in my mouth longer just in case. This occurrence has just started happening the last couple of years. I'll take everyone's advice....carry many.

Gooserbat

I keep a fresh one n on hand.  Usually two or three.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Thanks Gooserbat. I'll be getting a hold of you early next year.
