I just found out I passed my test that will allow me to apply for special ed teaching jobs.  There is an opening in my school and my principal came up to me and asked if I was appling for the job.  I said yes and he followed up by telling me to get in to him soon.

That is AWESOME for you!!  Congratulations.  What happened to the move?

wisconsinteacher

Well I my wife and I said we would give it one more year because we are both finishing our programs to add licences.  Mine is special ed and hers is English.  By passing the test, I can apply for jobs and that is huge.  We really do not want to move from northwest WI.

Well, I am sure happy for you then.  I thought you were looking for a new place, glad it is working out so you can stay in WI where you want to be.

Call often, sound like a hen, and shoot straight.

How is the shooting, I can't remember your last patterns?

Congrats!

I worked in special ed classroom for several years.  It can be a challenge, and the rewards are often not on your paycheck.

That's great.  Sounds like your Principal is pulling for you if he wants your application.  The more certs. you have the more marketable you will be.  My wife is certified in english and spanish and she is pretty safe with a job which is great with all the budget cuts we are hearing about.   :anim_25:

Thanks guys.  I was just handed the hardest behavior case in the school tonight and I am only an "aide".  I hope that puts a feather in my cap for me.
