A few weeks ago Sixbird and I visited Jimmy Schaffer at his shop (Oak Ridge Turkey Calls). Both of us picked up some awesome calls and I couldn't be happier. The best part about the visit was the quality time Jimmy spend with us. We arrive around 1030 am after a 3 hour ride. Jimmy immediately invited us in his home and treated us like family. You couldn't meet a nicer guy. We talked about turkey hunting, turkey calling and turkey call making. Jimmy showed us his turkey call collection from other makers and we got to play the calls. He also showed us his collections of calls he made past/present for sale. Talk about a tough choice. All told we spent 8 hours with him and I left wanting more (more conversation and more calls). Jimmy is truly a class act and if you every have time, he is well worth a visit!!!
