Well this season has been strange for sure but the last week ended with a bang, a triple bang at that. Rain had us backed up all season but we took 5 birds the last week with 3 coming on the last saturday of the season ALL LONGBEARDS. Son was first with an afternoon hunt after college exams. Then daughter got an invite to a DYNAMITE spot and got her second tom to run in to some sweet calls. Saturday had rain forcast LIKE THAT WAS SOMETHING NEW but not starting until 7 or so so out the crew went. Grand daughter was guided by her dad that was already tagged out and a her second longbeard of the season wandered too close to the 20 gauge. She's only 10 YEAS OLD AND LIMITED OUT! Daughter was tagged out but wanted to go along with old crippled dad to watch the show. We listened (well she heard em I'm getting hard of hearing) to a gobbling fest for an hour an half. I finally heard him and knew he was close and at 12 yards I cut half his beard off. Son had to work in the AM so the afternoon had him and his sis chasing birds in the wind and downpours. Finally got some ladyluck and found a bird that he could get to stand still for a Win LONGBEARD #6 headache. He even found a nice deadhead going in SHAME young buck and would have been NICE!
WOW GOODBYE 2016 SEASON THANKS FOR ALL THE FUN!
