From what I've seen on the web all the pics of guns dipped in old school look like they have an orange tint to me. Hoping y'all could help me out because I'm tied between going with new or old school.

To me the original has a brownish, somewhat orange tint to it. Which, blends really well. With that said, the new bottomland is the most effective pattern today and the coolest looking. I have an 870 with factory dipped new  Bottomland that I really like. I would go with the new.

Definitely one of the nicest looking patterns out there. If I ever have a gun dipped it will be the newer Bottomland.

Hookedspur who dipped your Benelli's? They look great. I have an M1 super 90 field I am thinking of having dipped.

Lunghit, you can send to Jim Crumley Camo Dip in Virginia and get Bottomland. Just had my 870 Wingmaster done in this pattern and it is perfect...no flaws period. Fact, had a BPS he done 10 years ago and still looks like new and it has been hunted hard. He is the best i think...Jim invented Tree Bark back 30-40 years ago. Go on his website and you can see his patterns....bottomland hottest pattern right now and all the others seen to grow old on you in short time and this pattern making a come back...you won't be disappointed.

Coolest looking?  I've never bought into a camo pattern because it looks "cool". Most effective?  There is no such thing!  Any camo(or non camo) pattern will work great if you sit still. Non will work if you're moving. As far as on a gun, paint it pink and move at the right time and you'll be fine!

Hookedspur, some cool looking bottomlsnd pattrtns there.... they never see you coming with that...you better not sit that down by a tree...you never find it.

Thanks for the recommendation I will look into them.

I have to agree with Uncle Tom regarding Jim Crumley Camo Dip. I had a gun dipped by him 10 to 15 years ago and used it every turkey season since and it has held up exceptionally well. I would certainly recommend his work without hesitation.
