We have a fairly new mom and pop shop in my home town.  They carry a somewhat decent selection and I really try to get them the order what I want.

No better feeling than keeping my business local.......same reason I really like custom calls.

This year is going to suck!!!

I hadn't thought about it, but I haven't been to a walmart in well over a year.  I have never cared for Walmart.

in the not so far past our local walmart stayed very well stocked for the hunting seasons either spring or fall and kept a pretty full shelf for reloaders.   now, it is pretty much a joke.   I try to deal with the small local shops as much as possible but to be honest, online gets it done most of the time.  trust me, I'd much rather deal local but if you need it most often they don't have it and I can order it as easy as they can.

The selection sucks and what the store gets is mandated by somebody behind a desk in Arkansas. I worked there for 15 years and have saw it decline awfully. The Dept manager is very knowledgeable and knows alot about all kinds of hunting and firearms. When she could order like she wanted to the selection was pretty good but this year I didn't even see a decent 3 1/2 in shell there. Deer or ducks on the other hand takes up about two isles when it's in season.

We just had a Cabelas open here in Lexington a few months ago. It has one little half row for turkey stuff.
Pretty sad...

Our bass pro selection was pretty slim as well.

Bass Pro...I've come to hate Bass Pro! Won't ship ammo to N.J. In store I got so frustrated with the poor service that I left, after waiting for the cashier to even acknowledge me standing in her line (I was the only one there). Seems she was more interested in a nearby conversation between a manager and another employee than checking me out. That's the short version...
The only reason I shop there is the NWTF offers $25 gift card for membership...Finally ended up giving the damned thing away after being frustrated by their high prices and lack of anything I could actually use, and their refusal to ship ammo to N.J., as I mentioned...
How do they stay in business???

I was in a Walmart yesterday and saw 3" 1 3/4 oz Longbeard XR's for $13 a box.

Greg Massey

Last year at WalMart, i bought enough shells on sale to kill ever turkey in West Tenn...lol

Go G.W.

I don't think it's that Bass Pro doesn't want your ammo order, it's that your jack leg state has stupid laws to keep them from shipping to there.

I used to unload those walmart trucks. They should get more turkey products in their stores---the market is there.
