I have run 8 cameras for several years and I have a mix of Moultrie, Wild Game and Browning as of now. I have tried just about every brand there is. I have had good ones of all brands and bad ones of each also. I like the trigger speed of the Brownings but I have had two of them go nuts this year and take 4000 pictures in one day and eat the batteries. The Wild Game cameras occasionally start taking foggy looking pictures (I do live in Florida which is a rain forest)so I take them home and open them up in front of a fan for a couple of days and they work fine for a while. The cheaper Moultries I have that run on C cells run forever on a set of batteries and are pretty dependable but take the worst looking pictures of the three. The best advice I can give is keep the boxes and receipts to every camera. I have had good luck returning them to Academy and Dicks as much as a year later for a refund. If not, most companies will replace them if you stay on them about it. If anyone says they have found a brand that is 100% dependable I would have them pick up my lottery tickets for me because they are very lucky.

Also go to trailcampro.com and read the testing and reviews.

They do real-world testing using the same conditions and procedures for every camera they sell so it's apples to apples comparisons.

They also break it down into what's important to you... battery life, trigger time, reset, quality, lighting, etc.

This year is going to suck!!!

MISSISSIPPI Double beard

I swapped to Covert Cams this year, long battery life. Just keep looking around on ebay or other web stores and you will find a good deal.

Covert mp-e6.  I live in Wisconsin and run my cams year around through the brutal cold.  Scoot

Agreed!!! Bought 6 MPE6's earlier this year, four for myself and two as gifts for my dad and father-in-law. They have worked flawlessly with battery life that is UNBELIEVABLE!!! Highly recommend!

If you're dead set on 8 mp you can get an MP8 blackout on sale for $99.99 at Simmonssportinggoods.com right now. I bought my MPE6's from them and was more than pleased with their service.

Ive been eyeing the Browning strike force for some time. I was going to buy a moultrie m 990i but lots of reviews say they malfunction and are of cheap quality.

Simply put you get what you pay for and $100 is not going to get you much when it comes to a "reliable" trail camera.

Apologizing:  does not always mean you are wrong and the other person is right.
It just means that you value your relationship more than your ego.
