I'm looking for suggestions for an out of state turkey hunt for nxt season. A place with lots of turkeys and gobblers that throw caution to the wind.I live in Georgia and have heard great things about Kentucky, Kansas, Texas. Im not realy concerned about sub species. I will be driving and don't have an unlimited budget. Thanks for any suggestions! Also I want to do my own calling. :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an

Kansas is the place you need to be.  I have heard it is hit or miss due to the population being hit hard in a few places, but when you get a hit, it's usually a grand slam.

If you are going to hunt public KS will be very, very, very spotty according to all recent reports on here...KS has seen a substantial increase in hunters as of late.

If you want a semi-guido opportunity in KS/NE I wouldn't be afraid to call Tim at Red Dog Outfitters in Hoxey, KS.  He will cut you loose on a big patch of property and you can Burger King it (i.e., have it your way, Baby) Tell him I sent you for a 25% increase in pricing. ;D  Some of his big properties in NE might be of interest to you - tell him what you are looking for and see what you think about his response.

If budget and means of transportation are an issue, why not start with your neighboring states? Self guide on Public land is doable .. the information is easier than ever to come by if you do the research...

AL, SC and TN all have fabulous turkey hunting... Good luck..Traveling to hunt is very rewarding.

As of now I am thinking hard on KY. There seems to be great hunting there and it seems to be the land of the Giants when it comes to heavy Easterns.

If not KY then possibly Tenn. It is another state with big birds and good numbers.

Kansas was a blast. Will definitely go back one day and hope to take my boy when he is old enough.

Give Ken Willis of Buck Country outfitters i Kentucky a call. Lots of birds and reasonable prices.

He has a web site and facebook page you can check out.

Give Dan Kendall a shout at Pennyrile Outfitters in Christian/Todd Co, KY. He is an OG member, goes by mdf1027. Great hunt, good pricing....never had an issue tagging out. The biggest birds I kill by far are in KY.

I have a 1000 acre lease in western KY with a cabin and may be leasing an additional 500.  There were 4 of us on the 1k this year and I may take 1 more member if I acquire the 500.

PM me if you want to talk.

We are headed to the Black hills next spring to get a look at some new scenery and different sub species.
