I recently purchased a beautiful Daybreak. It has a real clean clear yelp. Is there a striker wood that will give me a little more rasp with this call? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

What is the call surface on the Daybreak?  And what striker did Gary send you?
Yes, there are strikers that can make a pot call raspier.
No trees were hurt in the sending of this message, however a large number of electrons were highly inconvenienced.

Canary wood with a dymondwood striker.

I'm surprised you are getting clear yelps with dymond wood. Generally dymond wood runs fairly raspy.

That has been my experience as well.

Dymondwood is very hard and produces a sharp yelp on glass. That's why I like it. For a raspberry yelp,  switch to a softer,  coarser grained wood.

Locust. I love a locust striker. It gives a very raspy Yelp along with cuts.

Here is a list of the strikers I know will produce rasp

Locust
Walnut
Hickory
Birch
Padauk
Red cedar
Oak

I could go on forever but these woods are great for rasp on any calling surface
