What is your favorite non tom kelly, kenny morgan, or gene nunnery book?  I am going to get "Native Turkeys and a Georgia Mountain Hunter" by Herb McClure

Lots of good stuff out there.  I prefer the stories over the how-to, generally.
I enjoyed McClure's Native Turkeys

Here is a short list, and not including the Everitt (Jordan), Davis, Turpin classics.  I don't think I could say one stands out as the favorite.

I'm with you my season is over and reading is my only way to stay in the game.I read everything I can find on turkeys and have a couple  books on the way

Stories of a Texas hunter. Stories about hunting ducks and other fun stuff. Get e-book at Amazon. $3.99 I think.

Not a turkey book, but over the winter I read Crow Killer - The Saga of Liver Eating Johnson, which is the character upon which the movie Jeremiah Johnson was based. If you're into Mountain Man legend, it's pretty interesting.

This is a great story about North Arkansas and S Missouri when the turkey population first began to rebound.  He has some great stories about the differences of the "old" and "new" turkey after repopulating.

Also, some tips from an the old school ways of hunting.

I love anything by Tom Kelly, he just has a way with words. Ray Eye has some good books as well.

Personally I like picture books on turkey hunting. Doesn't take a week to read them and I am not sitting there for an hour trying to sound out the big words.
