X2 on the Aqua Seal. I where my burlys for everything I do in the woods, if I get 3 years out of them I'm happy.

X3 with Aqua Seal.  That stuff rocks.  I had a pair of Rocky Scentproof rubber boots for almost 10 years that started cracking around the same place as yours.  It helped hold them together for a few more years until the cracking was beyond repair.

Aqua Seal is superior for waders and wetsuit repairs as well.  It lasts longer if stored in the freezer after the tube is opened.

Luck counts, good or bad.

Upon further inspection my boots are worse than i thought. I found 3 holes total in both boots and they are cracking from the ankle down. But a buddy told me about this magic "shoe goo" from wally world and let me tell u after smearing on a coat it is working wonders! Ive already got the 1 major hole sealed up tight and am planning on doing the whole boots with this stuff! Im not sure what this stuff is, buts its not like silicone. Its seems stronger. Im going to be doing several coats and might have to get another tube.

Quit buying the Alphas. You can still get the traditional rubber burley, and the last pair I bought is wearing as well as the pair I replaced them for. Last pair held up for almost ten years. Finally wore the bottom almost through.

Shoe goo and Aqua seal is temporary. One long hunting trip and it'll start to wear / peel a little.  Only real solution is get new ones.

Again, buy the standard version rather than the soft  Alphas. You can still get the original style rubber.

Time for a new pair.

Get a pair of Granges.  They're less bulky, they are softer and you can feel for debris under your feet better, and they're a lot cheaper.

I buy nothing but Aeroheads anymore when it comes to rubber boots.

My first pair of Granges, made in the USA, lasted 10 years the next pair, made in China, lasted 4 the next pair only 3.  Talked to a Lacrosse rep at an outdoor show about this and he admitted the Chinese rubber was inferior. I bought a pair of Alphas last time and the glue is failing after 2 seasons.

I really like rubber hunting boots over any other kind of style. Whats a better brand? Irish setter looks good how are they?

Have you tried sending them back?  My boss has returned 3 or 4 pairs over the years and has always gotten them replaced - no questions asked.  I've never tried it because I feel like after 4 or 5 years that the kind of miles I put on them that I've definitely gotten my moneys worth.

Always worth a try.
