Got a heck of a deal on a stoeger 3000 with the steady grip and 24" barrel. dropped a sumtoy 665 in it now I need some advice on what loads these guns typically like. Short on time with work right now so I just want to narrow the search a little.

LB XR 6's would be my first choice, 5's second.

Longbeard 5's or 6's and call it a day!

I like that gun brother. For factory loads, I'd recommend either hevi 7s or lbxr 5s or 6s. But, I imagine after you shoot you may find you may need adj sights or an optic of some sort. I may be wrong, you'll just have to shoot and see. If you can, I'd check into tss. Jmo. I'm bet that gun will smoke em either way.

With that choke you should get fantastic patterns with the Win. LB #4,5,6's!

ANY of the H-13 stuff #5,6,7 shot or I would go with Mag-Blend personally. The reason I say Blend over straight shot sizes is they are fired @ 1090fps and the Blend is @ 1200fps. Folks can say what they want but the 110fps matters!!! Also Long beard with that open a choke and as well as they pattern try #4 shot and ifn that dont suit your fancy do the #5 shot.Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

I had that same right, with an IC .665 choke.  I ran Long Beard #6's and it was pretty good. I only got rid of it due to shoulder issues and I was tired of lugging a 9+ pound gun around the woods up and down hills all day.
