Can someone help with a choke selection for heavy weight #7 in a Mossberg's bantom Maverick 88?  I've tried a full choke, truglo super full ported and an undertaker super full unported.  The pattern at 35 yards is minimal at best.  Trying to get the right setup for my grand daughter.

My sons 870 shots pretty good with a primos tightwad and hywt 7s.

With those heavy weight shells with flight control wads, look to an unported choke. Something from Hastings, Carlson's, or maybe Colonial may be able to give you acceptable patterns, they all produce unported chokes.

My lill 20ga bantom puts up better numbers than my 12ga, that is with a Indian Creek black diamond and the federal heviweight #7

Thx fellows I'll look into a Carlson or Hastings imported.  I have an Indian Creek in my SBE 1 and it does a good job.  If I keep buying chokes I'll have more in chokes than the shotgun.  Guess that happens sometimes.  I really want to shoot the heavy weights

I have used an old Hastings .566 last year that put 150's with that shell. This year I'm running the Carlson .575 and it's putting up between 167- 176 with that load. Both are great chokes and unported.
