M2 with Rob Roberts and Hevi-Choke

I took my M2 26" out today to pattern it... and was pretty sorely disappointed.

The best pattern I got was 102 in a 10" at 40 yards with a Rob Roberts 570.  The Hevi-Choke wasn't much different.

I tried both Federal HW #7 and Hevi 13 #7.  Multiple shots with each with clean barrel.  We tried the same RR choke in my buddy's M2 (24") with a HW #7 from a different lot, and it wasn't much better.

I'm disappointed.  I don't even know what to do next.  I'm going to call RR tomorrow and see what they have to say.

Any thoughts?

Call Rob......he'll send you another choke to try! He should have an idea of what works for most with all the testing he does but each gun's different.

Shoot it dirty?

X2 I'd try that. If that doesn't work call the shop and see if you can get a different constriction tube. They are great about it and did the same for me when I got a choke for waterfowling.

Roost 1

Crio barrels are so finnicky I almost wouldn't even recommend one for turkey hunting.. I love mine but it won't throw the best pattern.

Yes I'm going through this now.  Great quality gun but shoots like crap.  I just ordered a Franchi Affinity to try instead.

You'll love the Affinity.  Shoot the Fed HW 7's thru a Trulock .565 Federal Heavyweight choke and you won't be disappointed!  Just remember that they use the Beretta/Benelli Mobil Choke threaded tubes.
