JMHO, look for a nice clean used 870 Wingmaster, save the walnut stock, add a cheap synthetic if you must.

Just left the gun shop a moment ago. Picked up an old 20 ga for my dad to give to the nephews and niece. They had that 500 up there for $255. The other barrel is in the back. I believe they plan to clean it up and sell it separate but I'd bet you could get the thing for $320 out the door. If I truly needed it, I'd be getting it myself but... No need for it here. Especially since dad bought the 20. Lol.
