Bears and yotes though I believe the bears were more just passing thru. There's a high population of them here. They will shut up a turkey faster than a yote or a cat from my experience. Funny thing is that most of the yotes came in when I could see the bird or waiting to get a shot. Only once did the bird spook. One bird gobbled like crazy at the yote like he was fussing at him lol

First year Dad and I had no idea what we were doing. Called in a rooster pheasant and pheasants are rare in this part of KS.

I had the same experience here in NY about 20 years ago. I was set up in a hedgerow between two big fields and had one start cackling back at my calls. He came to within 20 yards and must have cackled 15 times in the course of an hour.

It's almost unheard of to see a pheasant around home and I assumed that somebody must have released some here that year. He must have been so lonely that the turkeys were starting to sound good. ;D

When I walked home later that morning, he was out by the road in front of my house still cackling away. Never saw him again.

Call 'em close, It's the most fun you'll ever have doing the right thing.

Like everyone a few cows and hunters but the best one a couple years ago called in a pair of Sandhill Cranes. That was very cool. Chief

I've had cows on our farm come in and knock over decoys with their heads.  Drives me crazy.

They're more amused by the decoys than anything.  Those cows have nothing to do and all day to do it.  >:(
