Hey everybody. I just got a winchester sxp 12 ga turkey gun with 24 inch barrel.  I ordered jebs 650 headhunter choke for it but was wondering whats the best shells for this combination. Thanks

First of all, welcome to OG. We'll be interested in hearing more from you.

Congratulations on a great choice of both the gun and the JEB's turkey choke. You have a wide variety of shells that will work very well with that choke. Hevi-13 with either #6 or #7 shot and the WLB shells with #6 shot in either the 1 3/4 oz of 1 7.8 oz loads should work very well. You may also want to try some of the new Triple Beard lead shells from Hevi-Shot. I plan to take some of those to the range as soon as the weather cooperates.

Again, congratulations and good luck with your new gun and choke.

Thanks,
Clark

I have the exact same gun I just picked up. Not a lot of info on them here, but I'm going to be trying a carlsons .665 with longbeard #5 and #6 and the new triple beard in Monday. I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks guys. Awesome forum by the way.   very interested to see what kind of patterns you all get.  I've been shooting 870 sp turkey for years with Indian Creek 665 with good results just wondering if I can do better

Going to be tough. That's a great combo.
