mulberry, mineral stained hackberry and spalted pecan...good for box calls???

KentuckyHeadhunter

The last two are great for pot calls but not seen a box that I can recall.  I have heard that hackberry is very hard to work with.  Some people mistakenly call it ironwood although I don't believe it's the same species (?)  In my opinion canary wood is the best sounding wood and has amazing acoustical properties whether it be a box or striker application.  If you can find a wood that plays well with it then it should work regardless.  Someone here probably could answer your question better. Just my thoughts.
