What the 2015 season meant to me...and you???

I hope all of you experienced a successful season this year.  And by success, I don't mean that you filled your tags.  I mean that you got to experience the great outdoors, the birds talking on the roost, the sunrise, the struts, the drumming, the heart pounding, the pheasants cackling and the quail whistling while you take a new hunter out.  I hope the gobbler came in behind you and blew your hat off with a thunderous gobble.
I want to thank those of you who answered my dumb questions, and for the camraderie I feel on this board.  I like that everyone wants to help each other, and there isn't alot of ego and ford vs chevy debating.
Personally, I was fortunate to be able to spend time with my wife and her parents pursuing Easterns in Kansas this year and thoroughly enjoyed the sport.  We struck out on birds we thought we had and killed some that didn't read the book on what to do.  In the end, we gave it our best the whole season.  I was fortunate enough to harvest a gobbler with an 11" beard the last day of the season and I killed a jake early on. 
I was able to spend a few mornings before work and some evenings thereafter chasing these birds.
It allowed me to experience nature and recharge my batteries.  I absolutely loved every minute of it.

Well, my season was terrific...Birds gobbled most days and the weather was, for the most part, excellent. Sat alongside a long time friend. We had lots of laughs and saw lots of gorgeous sunrises. We fell asleep a few times and awoke to gobbling. We plotted against those crafty old gobblers. Sometimes we were successful and sometimes they made monkeys out of us...The woods greened up and it was the wonderland that it is in the Spring. Saw some foxes and some deer and songbirds and had a snapper turtle crawl by about 3 feet away. Had some battles with old smart gobblers that I'll remember many years from now (hopefully). One of those guys took 5 hours to finally cross the magic 40...Had some remarkable victories and some hard fought battles that we lost...Man, I'm so sad when it's so quickly over...Lord willing, next year we'll be at it again...

Whether I am successful or not in killing birds, I always have great time in the woods. Sunrises, smells of spring, wildlife seen and the sounds all turkeys make, all fuel my addiction.
Saw a lot of deer, had a tiny flying squirrel come down the tree we were sharing and sit on my leg. Ran head-log into a skunk as I walked toward a roosted tom in the KY darkness one morning.
I ask the Lord to bless me every time I leave the truck to hunt, I ask him to show me something in the woods that I've never seen before...in 47 years...He always has .

I had a great season with 4 new hunters out with three of them shooting birds and we had a ton of birds gobbling every morning ,the bugs never got real bad till the last week of the season ,we had a dry season with good weather .I shot my limit of birds so what more could you ask for ,,,looking forward to next year..Dutch

 I had a great season this year, me and my son both tagged out here in ky. For most part of the season we had pretty good weather also. It's always fun geting to go with my boy and watching him get excited, over all had a great season can't complain.

It's just like the gentleman said above, you get to see something new every time out.  If you don't, you're just not paying close enough attention. The birds were a little funky this year, but I suppose if it was too easy we'd get bored of it. Love it, going to be a long next 3 months and longer 9 months until next March.
