Can anyone recommend a good outfitter for Merriams?  I am thinking about WY, MT,SD, CO, or NM.  Open to other states though but am looking for pure strain Merriams, not hybrids.

Give Clay Beck a call at White Oak Outfitters. They hunt Nebraska and South Dakota. They treat you like family and youll get your bird.

Give Cody Weyer a call with C&D outfitters in Howes Souyh Dakota. He has a ton of ground and pure strain Merriams. He had a pile of birds and he knows his stuff.

Looks like they have a lot of Hybrids in the area that White Oak hunts.  Looking for pure strain Merriams only.  I think the only place in NE to find them is the new corner or pine ridge area of the state.

Trophy ridge outfitters in Huelett wyoming had pure strain.  My dad and I doubled up within 30 min of first morning.

I also hunted Merriams with Trophy Ridge Outfitters in Wyoming...Excellent..My Wife got a huge Gobbler first morning and completed her slam..Plus alot to sight see there..We tagged out first morning and drove the rental car everywhere..Devils tower was amazing..We visited Deadwood,The Crazy horse monument,Mount rushmore,The Black Hills,..these are not to be missed if your there..Saw tons of game..antelope,goats,turkeys,deer,etc.

Wow that is a lot of birds!  Nice pics!  I hunted right between Hulett and Devils Tower just over two weeks ago and saw very few turkeys.  No Toms either, just hens and a few jakes.  That area had a winter kill a few years ago and some bad hatches after that.  I will not be going back to that outfitter at all and not to that area for a few years though.

We did that hunt in the spring of 2010. The turkeys in that pic were a flock of turkeys that would come out of the woods every morning and peck around in the outfitters horse corrals. We could hear them gobbling from our beds every morning!, it was pretty awesome. We were under strict orders that these turkeys were not to be messed with...But it was fun watching them strutting all morning and in the afternoon one night they flew up and roosted in a tree right next to the cabin. We hunted areas off the property that were strictly private and hunted very little.I cant say how the winter kill affected his lands but there sure was alot of birds when we were there.

I've been with Dave nelson in Sheridan Wyoming... absolutely great.  I love it out there.
