Grew up in IA and moved to SD three years ago for school. Just graduated from SDSU this December with a degree in wildlife and fisheries sciences. Managed to get my first bird with the new 20 gauge this spring as well as my first archery bird. I'm heading down to Kansas next week for a wedding and hope to squeeze in a little turkey hunting while I'm down there.

Awesome man. Getting them with a bow is very addicting and challenging. I got my 2 bird limit in Maryland last year with my bow. I had some close calls this year with my bow, but was not able to close it. Killed one with a crossbow this year.

Congrats on the birds, and thank you for your dedication to our wildlife resources!  As a hunter and outdoorsman I appreciate that a lot.

Genesis 27:3 - Now then, get your weapons—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

Congratulations and good luck in Kansas!
Thanks, I'll need it. Trip just got cut a day shorter because of an unexpected interview. Never been down there before but I've been looking over aerial maps quite a bit.

Way to go! Killing one with a bow is very challenging and quite an accomplishment!

Nice job with the bow!  I hunted the Black Hills for about 15 years and it's truly a great place to hunt turkeys.
