Went out this morning with the hopes of filling my last tag but also thinking with the awesome weather it sure beats working and a long beard would be icing on the cake. I started at a spot that's produced many a gobbler but as it started getting light it was dead, no gobbles and two hrs latter no difference and no sightings. I packed up and beat feet to another spot a few miles down the road, nada deadsville!!! down to the next property I go, bingo 1 strutter 1 jake and two hens out in a field but heading to posted property. I watched them and as soon as they had moved out and thru a hedge row separating the property's I moved in got within 70 yards of where they had been and set up. A few clucks and purrs some light yelping and a hen pops out 10 yards away followed by the jake and long beard ..... Boom ! Happy man, 21lbs 10" thick beard and 1 1/4" Spurs .
