I started a new thread for this, old post was for how long is too long waiting on calls that you already paid for. I got my calls today. They look and sound great. He personalized them but misspelled my daughters name. She doesn't care and it sounds great. One of the pots was made from Shedua instead of purpleheart, again it sounds great. The backs are slate and sound great as well. The mouth calls sound good as well. I do feel they were rushed, the glue is a little messy. Overall I am happy to have them, but the experience was bad. Small imperfections but overall I think they will hunt just fine. I plan on my 8 year old daughter calling me in a big gobbler with hers and I will return the favor in 2 years when she can hunt. Thanks to everyone . Good luck and God Bless. Al Baker

When my first grandson was born I had Kelly at Kellys Kalls make a tiny duck call personalized with his name. Oops! Kelly spelled the name wrong. When I called to tell him, Kelly made things right by making a new call. He made it righter by telling me to keep the call with the misspelled name. That little call still hangs on the mirror in my truck eight years later.   :icon_thumright:

I woulda wanted to drive wherever he lived n taught him manners. First of all misspelling your daughters name is completely unprofessional and damn rude. Secondly not giving you the wood you ordered was disrespecting your wishes and showing you how much he values your patronage. Third you're a hell of a nice guy for not telling everyone his name but I think you ought to in order to save someone else. Oh n show us the messy glue so no one even contemplates using the idiot

Your much more polite than I as well. At the minimum I would call him, tell him you have to run these calls for the season but you want it right after seasons end. I agree with you in not calling him out publicly however at least now but later after the phone call, you may either praise him or help others avoid the same mistake in using him.

Think strick is right. Give him a limited chance/window to right the situation. But man I would be ticked

Think of it this way. If the messed up calls sound great then I am sure his good calls would sound fantastic. Better to make it right now than wait. You paid for a service and product do not settle for a half ased product.

:turkey2: We have been in contact and he is building a new call for my daughter, no hassle. I hope he donates or uses the call I am sending back, it sounds very nice. Crystal  surface with a mini slate on the back, made from Shedua.

Happy that things worked out. I think you handled this situation in a very fine manner!!
