Gobble!

No but you can get a Harrison Hootin Stick for around $20 that is a proven call made by a champion caller.

I own one. It sounds good I like it. I think the hootin stick is a little more user friendly.

How are you holding it? I can't get it to sound like anything but a duck.

If I am going to hoot with it I cup my hands around it . I normally just use it to scream with. I know what you mean about it being kinda "ducky" lol.

I actually listed it for sale on another site tonight along with 6 other of my DND calls. I have read so much lately about a hootin stick I've got to try one.

Hootin stick is the way to go. The synthetic is my favorite. Its not as pretty as the others but it's cheaper little louder and sounds the same.

Haha. I had a buddy give me one of these barred owl calls and when i first used it i thought this sounds like a sick duck. I still try to use it from time to time and when i do I try to do the who cooks for you who cooks for yall and with the yall i try and roll my tongue at then end. See if this helps you out any. Ive made turkeys gobble by doing it but they gobble from car horns, cows, or anything else.

Y'all are making me want to buy a hootin stick, but I don't need to be spending any more money. How much are they?

They really do sound like an owl, even with a rookie's first attempt?

I just received mine yesterday and tried it for the first time this morning.  James Harrison has a couple of videos on youtube showing how he uses his.  I listened to the comparison video and couldn't tell enough difference between the wood and synthetic one so I went synthetic because of price ( I was already ordering a couple of things from Hook's).

I think it sounds pretty dang good.

Tennessee Lead

Well I just ordered a synthetic Hootin Stick myself. Can't wait till it gets here!
