Couple of friends of mine are heading to Florida in March to hunt. They are looking at hunting some of the following WMA's...
Bull Creek
3 Lakes
Upper St Johns

Without divulging any secret spots can some of you help point my 2 friends in a good direction for their hunt?
PM me if you like

Thanks,
Barry

Tell them to bring a boat. all under water now. those three places are hunted hard. upper is only open wed/Thur. Best advice to give is scout scout scout and park in line the day be for so they can get in.those areas will be a mad house and a free for all the first two days, sometimes through the first week. Tell them to be prepaired for a lot of company and intrusion if the birds are gobbling. Gotta get in on them and set up close real close. If they do not someone else will guaranteed if they gobble much. When it comes to Florida turkey hunting for some reason some turkey hunters have no respect towards other turkey hunters and the unwritten codes.

Only have experience with Three Lakes. It was crowded to say the least, but the spots I hunted were off the beaten track and I had no intrusion from other hunters. As was said earlier, this place gets wet, big time. Good luck to your buddies. :icon_thumright:

TRUTH!!!!
Public land hunting in FLA, especially on the open WMA's that require no permit like those, can be a mad house!! Tons of people, and most of them have no respect for other hunters. That's why I never go to those places any more, and only put in for permits for a handful of places.
My advice to your friends is to get there a few days early, scout their butts off, and find areas with birds that are several miles away from roads or parking areas. Find those places and you'll leave 95% of the crowds behind, and might even be able to kill a bird. Florida public turkey hunting is ridiculous, and FWC is to blame. But there ain't nothing any of us can do about that.

This pretty much sums it up for them, not much more to say.
Genesis 1:26
Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

Hunt during the week. That's what I do at Three Lakes and I pass on the opener. Too many crazy people out there.
