sweet but for my money id rather go with an sx3 that will shoot 2 3/4 all the way up to 3.5in. just sayin...

Many people don't need or want a gun capable of shooting 3.5" rounds, but that is covered too with the Versa Max, which has been out a few years now.

The V3 is designed the way it is for a reason (In the 2015 online catalog it tells all about it) and with that and the VM, Big Green is going to take the field back from these foreign companies.

I understand where you are coming from with their recent recall mess and the 700s but they are still a good company and at least they established they had an issue and are addressing it.  That being said, I have felt their quality has fallen a decent amount but it is all due to money.  Everyone wants things cheaper these days.  Few pay for quality anymore.  For example, savages and tikka rifles are some of the best out of the box shooters (lack in looks in my opinion though) and they are typically 20% or more cheaper than the same comparable Remington model...they flat out shoot well though. The shame is we are losing American companies all the time.

understood...but when you can find a similar priced sx3 new on gunbroker why not buy a shotgun that can shoot whatever you want.  Id rather have the choice.  Good to know you buy a 26inch sx3 and shoot everything and anything from rabbits, turkeys, geese, and deer. Just saying...I may not use 3.5s turkey hunting but id still love the choice. P.S. my current shotgun is a beretta pintail 3incher that patterns just fine out to 40yards with #5 longbeards.  The sx3/browning silver are just a nice do-all shotgun is all im saying.

I will gladly buy any Remington in good shape that is at least 5-8 years old.  I will look at the gun as I am looking for my wife a good dove gun, but I am always hesitate to buy any new product from Remington other than an 1100, which is now out of my price range.

The V3 is a fine looking shotgun and the 2 3/4 to 3 inch will cover any and all hunting scenarios. I don't shoot 3.5's so therefore I don't need nor want the extra weight nor recoil that the 3.5 guns bring to the table. I also believe Remington has fallen from where they use to reside in the gun world but they still make some good guns and I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Remington if that's what I wanted..Matter of fact, I just recently aquired a used 11-87 Mossy Oak version that I'm quite happy with..We'll see how it does come April.. ;D

Have you shot the sx3?  again, I am actually a fan of Remington (especially there 700 rifles) BUT dang the sx3 is sweet.  It is very light, definitely no extra weight compared to other model shotguns that are only 3 inch capable and the recoil was actually the surprising thing...not bad at all since it is an semi-auto.  Again, I currently use a Beretta pintail 3inch which is also semi-auto so I am currently used to very little recoil already.  When I shot my buddies sx3 with some magnum turkey loads I couldn't believe it...yes it kicked harder than my shotgun but definitely nowhere as bad as I would have thought. Definitely NOTHING like a 3.5 pump action.  I like my Beretta but should it ever break or I simply feel the need to buy a new shotgun the sx3 will be on my list...or the sx4/sx5 lol whatever exists by that time haha.

I look forward to seeing the reviews on this. I know Remington's quality has went down a little and I feel it's due to trying to make a firearm in which some people want to either be as smooth as silk, shoot flat to 300 meters, never rust, AAAAAAA wood, shoot any and all shells, no recoil, ultra light, never chip off paint, National match trigger, return to zero even if it falls from 300 feet up for $200. It's not going to happen. Their top tier Rifles and shotguns are equal or better than everyone else on the market. Unfortunately If you want US made weapons they cost more regardless of their low end or high end choices because we as Americans want $20. plus and hour to work. If anyone gets one soon, please let us know what you think.
