Can a turkey hatched in the spring gobble in the fall. I saw a bunch of turkeys bow hunting last October. Couldn't make any of them out but after they moved off there was the godawflest bunch of gobbling you ever heard. had I not saw them first I wouldn't have even known what it was at first. they all were gobbling at the same time. I figured it was a bunch of jakes and just wondering if they be longbeards now.

dodger

if they hatched last spring their going to be jakes and next year they will be 2 year olds.. was it a broken gobble?

I don't really remember and don't know if I could tell because they were all gobbling and purring and yelping at the same time. after about 5 min. I saw them at a distance running across a ridge. 8 or 10 of them. I just didn't know if lat spring they were jakes or just hatched.

Sounds like a gobbler/jake fight

longspur

so do you think it was spring jakes or spring hatchlings

dodger

i've seen 1 jake i'll call him a "super jake"  he could full strut and full gobble. everything a 2 year old could do with a few short feathers!!!
