Hey guys, first post on OG. I recently purchased a Shur-shot kit to upgrade my 20 year old 11-87. Went to slide on fore-end and will not fit unless i leave out the gas cylinder collar. There are tabs on inside of new fore-end that aren't on old wood fore-end. Back of box says to make sure its on, no instruction book came with it as mentioned on back of box (looks like Bass Pro sold me a return item. LOL.)

Will call remington but wanted to see if any others experienced the same situation when installing the fore-end.

RAY

Welcome to the site. Try reading the reviews from Bass Pros website. Seems some other guys are trying to tweak their stocks also. Hope this helps.

Thanks Ray, I spoke to a Remington customer service rep and he advised that the gas cylinder collar can be let off when installing the new fore-end.
