I haven't been able to hunt much this season due to a ridiculous amount of school work.  I wasn't even able to see a Tom until the second last day of the season.
On the second last day of the season I skipped the morning of school and went out for a hunt on a small property that held a few birds on a previous hunt this season.  It seemed like nothing was going to happen until one bird gobbled 300 yards off the property behind me.  Things then seemed like they were going to happen quick as the gobbler closed the distance within minutes but it took two more setups to finally tag this turkey.

Video: I apologize for the sun in the video.  For the first setup I needed to have it in my face and then in the final setup the sun was so bright out in the field that it made it difficult to see the bird on camera.  Watch in 1080p and turn up your volume for the best footage.

Instead of buying a new tag for the last day, I went out with my Dad to try and help him get a bird.  We had a tom come in right off the roost but he stayed a little far out (45 yards) and got a pass.  Soon after the tom left, four birds came in and the lead bird, a jake, walked into 25 yards where he met his end.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

The addiction will cost you time and money and alienate those close to you. I can give you the names of a dozen addicts — myself included — whose wives begin to get their hackles up a week before turkey season starts and stay mad until a week after it closes.

You won't remember your GPA in a few years, but you'll remember every turkey you take.  :TooFunny: Good job on the hunt!
Love to hunt the King of Spring!
