Thanks for the compliments. Too bad I didnt have my camera this evening. I took my new bird dog pup for a run in the mountains this evening and heard a turkey gobbling. I hsd a call in the truck so when we got done I drove up the road and gave them a little yelping. They responded one closer than the other. Within 20 minutes or so I had called them both across a meadow strutting. They gobbled all the way in then one at a time crossed a creek and walked up the bank and crossed the road 10 ysrds in front of my truck. They were still gobbling when I left. They only issue 25 tags in this area so what few birds there are havent heard much if any calling. Still they were both beautiful mature merriams
