Alright might be a dumb idea but need to find a way. Just wondering if anyone has ever been hunting hunting after surgery had my gallbladder taken out and a hernia fixed Tuesday and this sitting at the house is killing me so if anybody has ever had to come up with a way to go after a injury or surgery let me let me hear it

Have a buddy help you set up a blind with a comfortable chair and sit back and relax.  You can sit in the woods and relax just as easy as in the house.  Have your buddy carry extra food out also.

When the doc says take it easy for awhile, do what he said. I had a hernia fixed about 10 years ago and I did't listen. A couple days after my surgeie Mr. Lefty swelled up to the size of a softball, and thats not a joke. Worst part was to fix it involved a needle just a wee bit smaller than a pencil and you can only guess where the doc stuck it. OUCH.

Nick8403

See I've heard that but the doc never told me to take it easy they actually told me to walk around to help healing so that's why I was thinking I do a lot of walking chasing birds but I'm also still pretty young so it might just be a lil bit of be hard headed kicking in lol

SinGin

Mr. Lefty and needles should never be in the same sentence. If you do go just leave the house early and walk reeeeaaaaal slow. Your doc is right I'm sure but I'm just giong by personal experience. That needle was a pain you couldn't imagine

Nick8403

Oh I now all about pain in that area I once got stepped on by a 700lb steer couldn't walk for a few days then it was still kinda hard

SinGin

That might top the needle but I doubt it. Remember I took a well calculated direct hit. But seriouly give the doc a call and run it pass him first, hate to see your whole season ruined

I'd agree with a buddy setting up a blind and comfy chair within reasonable walking distance.

Do what you CAN do.
If your doctor gives you clearance and you can't hurt yourself
Suck it up and get after it.
Yes
I've killed deer out of a deer stand when I could not walk or stand for more than 5 minutes.
Had rod put in femur and acl surgery on other knee.
Other than that
I have hunted with broken leg, stitches in numerous places,
Broken thumbs, broken arms and broken ribs.

Hunting when in pain will test a man
It can also make you really get after it when you are healthy.

I currently hunt/ walk in constant pain.

Turkey hunting takes my pain away
I only hurt on the way out without a bird
Never hurt gettin after one and don't think about it when I have one on me tote
Reason I try to walk out with a bird more than not.

If you real bad off
Get a buddy to help.
Find someone that has been hurt during hunting season
They will know the deal

Ask your doc.  Frustrating though it may be, it might be wisest to pass on the hunt for a while.

I had major abdominal surgeries in late 2012 and early 2013, and got back to life too soon.  As a result, in the fall of 2014 I spent another 8 days in the hospital with over 40 staples in my belly after having a 10 X 14-inch mesh installed to repair a series of 6 incisional hernias.  Here it is May, and I'm just starting to feel human again.

Trust me, it's a lot easier to recuperate from one operation than from a series.  You can be frustrated for a while if you miss this year's spring hunt, but you can hurt for years if you screw up.

Well found me a pack mule in the way of the wife on one condition she gets to pull the trigger I told her that's better then if I did it shes never wanted to go before now so I'm glad she's coming around so looks like in the morning we get to go wake up some birds and hopefully let her 20 roar

DirtNap647

hey there ya go ...good luck be careful

Nick8403

Well we got on them this morning had one come with in 20 gave the wife the ok to pull the trigger and hear a click she looks at me and I say pump and pull it again fast by this time the bird knows something ain't right and is heading away but still in range turns out my wife had a blonde moment this morning and was in such a hurry and excited that she forgot to load her gun but I take part of the blame for not asking and making sure
