Okay guys, first post here. So, title pretty much sums it up. I feel like I need a 15k Hz pot call and these two are available locally, the re-release MAD Super Aluminator and the Primos Power Crystal. Can't find a MAD Super Crystal local or it would be on the list. Don't want to spend $50 on a Zink Power Hen Crystal either. The wife will kill me if I buy any more turkey stuff this season, so I can really sneak in only the one or I'd buy them all! Don't have time to ship in anything custom. What would you grab tomorrow if you could only have one? Leaning towards the MAD as its Made in the USA (Promos is China :-X) and I love my Mark Drury signature diaphragm. :thanks:

I killed my first bird with a primos power crystal and still have it but have heard good things about the mad super aluminator.  Scoot

I have a power hen crystal zink I'll sell you or a power crystal when I was young and poor it was the only call I used with the h.s strut rosewood many turkeys died to that call

I've used both of those quite a bit....I've owned 3 of the power crystals, I gave one away to a friend in need of a call, the crystal surface separated from the pot on the second one, and I later purchased the third, which I still own.  The power crystal sounds good but I don't take mine to the woods much anymore because I have better glass and crystal pots that I rely on.

I've only owned 1 super aluminator....it's bomb-proof and sounds good....I still use it quite a bit because it's dependable in wet weather and is very tough.

Based on my experiences I'd recommend the aluminator....

A turkey has NEVER made a 15K hz sound. Both are good with the right striker.

Used both exclusively when I first started hunting and killed several birds with each, I'd give a slight nod to the Power Crystal. With the right striker, I could run it under a stream of tap water. Think I struck more with that high pitch aluminum however. Left my original 20+ year old aluminator halfway up a ski slope mountain in my rush to retrieve a gobbler, never had another aluminator since that sounded as good.
