My dad and I doubled up on 2 birds at 6:15 this morning.  We had them all around us and they were very vocal in the tree.  I shot mine in a group of 3 while the other 15 or so were at the other end of the field.  Once mine started flopping, the 4 toms at the other end of the field came in on a dead run.  As soon as mine stopped flopping, the other 4 turned to head back and my dad stood up and found a opening and dropped the last one in line.  My bird was 21lbs with 7/8" spurs and about a 2" beard from beard rot.  My dad's was 17.5lbs with 7/8" spurs and a 9" beard.  I knew mine had a stubby beard before I shot him but he was the dominant bird in that small group.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
