I have had one hell of a time trying to pattern this 870 supermag with hevishot mag blends and an indian creek choke.  It came with a reddot which I dont believe I like... but with it on or off the shots are never consistant anyone experiencing this with this set up?

yep, sounds like magazine cap screw is not tight. to tighten it use a pair of channel lock pliers with either rubber tubing or soft jaws. hand tighten it as far as you can then give it a few more click with the pliers. Or the red dot is not tight. I would check it to make sure also.

Are you shooting from a bench or some sort of solid rest?  If not and your dot is small enough you maybe figure 8'n your target which will throw you all over the place.  Also what distance are you shooting?   Ime shooting at 40 can be very tricky sometimes.  With potential shooting form errors and wind drift one can loose alot of money trying to dial in at 40.  Imo get a dead zero at 20 or 25 yards and go from there.  The 3.5 magblends shoot great in my 870.

First check the scope to be sure that it is secured to the base properly.
As mentioned before get a zero at 20 yards. An IC that is too tight for magblends can cause differing total numbers in a pattern but the POI should be nearly the same if you are shooting from a good rest and not snatching the trigger.

yeah i havent been shooting from a reest thats a good idea.. the sight is tight i just cant stand a red dot but the barrell that came with it doesnt have a rail and the bead is black and raised on the barrell ill try and post pics of it.  but yeah i love the mag blends but the price is alot to be testing too much lol

Make sure you anchor your cheek down fully on the stock... Some red dots are not parallax free... Meaning, different anchor points will create different impact positions. Unless of course you red dot is parallax free.
