Beard and spur display help....

I've posted this on another forum, but more ideas will only help me. I bought this plaque back in Feb at the NWTF convention:

I have the beards and spur sections (I want the skin on) drying in borax now.

When it is done, I will coat them with shellac and put them in some fashion with the hull and beard. As you can see, the multi-beard fan mount would work excellent as a beard only display, but it doesn't really accommodate for the spurs. Since the brass of the shell is what holds them whole thing in place, I don't want the spurs attached above the shell, because that wouldn't look good. I'm not sure how to attach the spurs and the beard in the shell so they all look nice. My only thought as of now is to run some string through the spur sections, take both tag ends and secure them around the beard end with thread. Then place the beard end into liquid nails in the base of the shell brass. It will look sort of like this (forgive my crappy quick sketch):

Any ideas?

I think the shell/beard/spur idea is good.  you might use leather string to attach the spurs, might look better than a fiber string.

What you have works, I use hot glue its faster and I have it lying around.

I would also add you could put the spur bones together and glue to the front shelf edge in front of corresponding shell/beard.

You could hot glue a piece of leather cord that is about 8 inches long or so to the fleshy part of the beard (glue it right in the middle of the leather cord).  String a beard on each side of the leather cord and then glue the entire thing inside the hull.  Hope this makes sense.

Kinda like this?  Knock the primer out.  Leather bootlace held with hot glue.  Don't let the glue melt the plastic of your shotgun shell.
